The namesake of the castle of Drakmordan, Drakmorwood means Forest of the Sleeping Dragon. As legend tells it this forest supposedly harbored a sleeping dragon of the ancient times. However, it has never been awoken. There was such a dragon awoken in the forests to the south, near Authbrig, and it was defeated. It was not nearly as old as this story is though, and so is likely not the same dragon. It is said that from time to time the forest will rumble and the earth will shutter as the dragon turns in its sleep. This forest is the home of the Sylvana-Gelvani who call it Sylvanmyr. More detail on the forest is given in the section of the Gelvani.
